His hands were anxious to be hands,

Incomprehensible, not restful.

Travel your eyes to a thin branch,

There for to see death twinned to sail.

Whoosh, children! Whirlybirds

Frisk in the ermine autumn mind,

Death’s twinning. Anxious hands

Make tea whose color, fitful,

Whose savor bays October moon.

I love the past for hating you.

I love my hands for their taper. Two

Hands worried this summer past

Nearly to death. Whoosh, we live forever!

The trees are Norway maples even there.
